Destia sells Destia Traffic to Mediamobile

Destia Ltd sells its real-time traffic information service unit Destia Traffic to Mediamobile S.A., a subsidiary of TDF Group. Destia Traffic’s operations transfer to Mediamobile 1st July, 2010 as Mediamobile Nordic. The divestment allows Destia to concentrate on improving its core business in line with the business strategy. Destia Traffic’s 18 employees will move to Mediamobile as existing employees.

Mediamobile, leader of the traffic information service in France and pioneer in Europe in 1996, has been working for several years on the development of Pan European services covering the French, German, Italian, and English territories. Mediamobile Nordic will enable to extend this international development and to increase the Mediamobile’s footprint in the Nordic and Scandinavian countries. Mediamobile relies on the international activities of its parent company TDF Group, already established in Finland, Poland and Estonia.

– Traffic information service operations are not a core business for Destia, rather an independently operating function. Divesting the business is clearly the best option for Destia. In Mediamobile Destia Traffic’s traffic information services gain a worthy international development environment, says Destia’s President & CEO Hannu Leinonen.
