Planning, design and implementation of traffic areas

Construction of recreational areas and landscaping

Destia has planned, designed and implemented sports grounds, golf courses, parks, recreational areas and cemeteries, for example.

Landfill construction

Landfill construction, which involves either the construction of a new landfill or the closing down of an existing one, calls for special expertise. Destia is the leading actor in Finland in both of these tasks. Destia also knows how to control the recovery of landfill gas and implement structures connected with it.

Protective construction

It is sometimes necessary to protect the environment against the spreading of harmful substances. Protective constructions are most often used to protect the soil and groundwater. An important issue in protective construction is to select a solution that matches the prevailing conditions and to determine the required level of protection.

In addition to groundwater protection solutions commonly used in road environments, Destia implements protective basins and protective constructions for industrial customers, including very demanding projects. Destia geodesign service personnel are among the most experienced in Finland in designing protection solutions.

Restoration of contaminated areas

In spite of strict control measures applied to harmful chemicals, accidents and leaks to the soil still happen. It is important to clean contaminated areas in order to protect the environment and prevent any further damage. When an area’s purpose of use changes, it is often necessary to restore the area before it can be taken into use.

The right tools and methods are needed in order to restore contaminated areas. Other issues that must be taken into consideration are the on-site protection of groundwater and the disposal of contaminated material.
